Originally
from
Erie, Pennsylvania, Natalie Gibson came to Athens, Ohio in August 2005
to pursue a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at
Ohio University. In addition to performing as a chamber musician and
accompanist, she teaches piano through the Athens Community Music
School. Through an exchange program, Ms. Gibson spent five months during
2006 in Bergen, Norway at the University of Bergen’s Grieg Academy of
Music.
Ms. Gibson earned her Bachelors degree in
Piano Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia,
where she received a Presidential Scholarship and graduated magna cum
laude. She won the Eugenia Evans Piano Award and the Accompanying
Ensemble Award and achieved second place in the Rudolph Evans Piano
Competition.
Ms. Gibson has served as the Assistant
Director of the Piano Division of the Shenandoah Performs Young Artist
Performing Arts Camp for the past two years. |
